Yorkshire residents discuss Wether to go ahead with housing plans

Those looking for property for sale in Yorkshire will be eagerly awaiting the outcome of a public planning meeting held to discuss proposals for 500 houses in the Wetherby area.

On the agenda for discussion were two developments which would amass 500 properties, should it get the go-ahead. The meeting itself was planned as part of Selby District Council's Site Allocations Development Plan Document and the meeting comprised detailed discussions about the layout of the proposed properties.

Councillor Bob Packham, who chaired the meeting, told Wetherby News: "The meeting was very well attended and people had some interesting and sensible questions. We will now go away and discuss the meeting and will decide what happens next."

Attending the meeting were Selby District Council planning officials as well as representatives from Redrow Homes Yorkshire and Persimmon Homes Yorkshire who gave a presentation on the proposals.

Towns and villages in Wetherby considered include Tadcaster, Sherburn-in-Elmet, Church Fenton and Ulleskelf.
