Yeovil property development given the go-ahead

House hunters looking for property for sale in Somerset have had their hopes boosted after a proposed housing development in Yeovil was given the green light.

The scheme will include the building of 298 homes in the town as well as seeing a much needed link road being built nearby. Taking place at the Brimsmore Key Site, the development is the first one in a planned series of new builds as part of Somerset Council's Area South Committee.

As well as further homes being planned for the site, a primary school and a number of community facilities are also earmarked to attract new residents.

Councillor Peter Seib, portfolio holder for development management, told the Yeovil People: "The house styles vary across the development, creating different neighbourhoods, but the edges of Brimsmore have been designed to blend with the existing estates. The emphasis has been on being a "good neighbour".

The government recently announced a fund to help stalled housing developments get off the ground to help solve Britain's housing crisis.
