Use 'authentic tradesmen' to improve houses for sale in Bath

Homeowners looking to boost interest in their property for sale in Bath should use a specialist for any large home improvements, experts have advised.

Making houses for sale in Bath and across the UK more energy efficient is a good idea, but DIY enthusiasts need to know their limits, according to the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC).

The council says residents should not be too ambitious with their own improvement work, as it can cause problems with home insurance claims.

Andrew Leech, director of the NHIC, says people need to assess the standards of their own workmanship and consider their skills when embarking on a new project.

For more serious work, he advised: "You do have to get the right person in to do the job, and make sure it's a tradesperson chosen from an authentic tradesperson list, rather than maybe just doing it by word of mouth."

Gocompare.com recently warned that homeowners should not ignore essential repairs to their properties to save money.

Although 32 per cent say the cutbacks are needed to reduce their outgoings, for those hoping to generate interest in their house for sale in Bath, delaying may not be wise.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800583109-ADNFCR
