UK’s most expensive street revealed

The most expensive street in England and Wales has been revealed as Eaton Square.

Located in the centre of the Belgravia district in London, the average house price in the street is a staggering £16.94 million.

The research by Lloyds Bank revealed the London boroughs of Westminster and Kensington dominated the top ten most expensive areas. Away from the capital, some streets in Weybridge and Leatherhead also attract top prices.

Eaton Square was built in the 19th century and has a mix of houses and apartments which overlook 2.5 hectares of private garden squares. Previous residents of the area include former Prime Ministers Neville Chamberlain, Stanley Baldwin and Margaret Thatcher, as well as ex-James Bond stars Sean Connery and Roger Moore.

Grosvenor Crescent is the second most expensive street with an average price of £16,92 million followed by Ilchester Place in Notting Hill at £16.02 million.

“Eaton Square, and prime central locations such as Westminster, and Kensington and Chelsea, have established reputations as exclusive addresses,” said Andrew Mason, mortgage director at Lloyds Bank.

“Not only do these streets possess a rich historical legacy, but properties located there are some of the most prestigious in the world and are close to superb local amenities in Knightsbridge, Sloane Street and Chelsea, as well as the capital’s business and entertainment districts.”ADNFCR-1222-ID-801830490-ADNFCR
