UK property market 'to remain attractive to investors'

UK property market 'to remain attractive to investors'

The UK housing industry will continue to be a 'safe-haven' for investors, according to the British Property Federation (BPF).

It noted that with the world in a state of economic and social uncertainty, investors will continue to be interested in what the UK property market has to offer, with bargains to be had in many areas.

Liz Peace, chief executive of the BPF, said that it was "entirely logical" that investors look to these shores.

"[The UK is] a mature, transparent and liquid market that provides a genuine diversifier from alternative, well-recognised investment sectors," she went on to say.

Speaking at MIPIM 2012, Ms Peace recently said that the property industry makes up a "major part of the UK economy in its own right".

She noted that the sector employs over 800,000 people across the country and is "fundamental" to the social and economic health of the UK going forward.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801312483-ADNFCR
