UK private rental market generally stable

The rental market in the UK is now sitting at a generally stable level of health, it has been reported, as the cost to tenants has remained largely the same in the early months of the year.

While the market in homes being sold has continued to grow, with April asking prices at their highest seasonal levels ever, it has been a period of levelling out for the private rented sector, which shows a mature market, giving homeowners confidence.

According to the report released by Move With Us, there are now average rental charges across the UK of £969 per month.

This means that in the first three months of the year, the cost of living in buy-to-let accommodation has fallen by 0.43 per cent only.

Robin King, Move with Us director, said that moving forward, rental prices are expected to sit at a level that is similar to inflation to show yet more maturity overall as a sector.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801572350-ADNFCR
