Sussex offers an all-round relaxed lifestyle to its residents

Not many counties can claim to boast as many idyllic beauty spots as Sussex does.

Within the county boundaries lie Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings which all regularly attract both tourists and those looking for property for sale in Sussex.

Currently Sussex has a population of just over 1.5 million and it's not hard to see why it's so popular.

The county is alive with activities and you will never be short of things to do. The county is located on the southern coast of England and as you may expect, beach and sea sports will always be popular but it's not just the coastal aspect of the county which makes it buzzing with activity. They also have museums, gardens and festivals to keep people entertained.

They also boast The Sussex downs which stretch from Beachy Head in the East to along to Harting Down in the West. The Sussex Downs are beautiful, varied and they are by far the most accessible part of the South Downs National Park to walk in and visit. That means you'll be able to enjoy the walks, the afternoon cream teas and infamous local brews at your leisure.

Beachy head alone is one of the most popular beauty spots in the county as is High Weald (an area of outstanding natural beauty) and Devil's Dyke. From High Weald in particular you can enjoy a gaze into the sunset and even see France on a clear day.

The other geographical advantage is the county's proximity to the capital. From centre of Sussex, London is driveable within just over an hour. This is why it a popular destination with workers in London who look for houses to rent in Sussex. It looks likely to be a popular destination for those attending the 2012 Olympic games in the capital for the same reason.

All told, Sussex is a thriving area of the country with a healthy population and active social scene. A move to Sussex could prove to be one of the best decisions you could make.
