Street names can have effect on house values

The name of a street can have an effect on its value, if a new study conducted by Zoopla is to be believed.

The company has said that the first letter of a name in particular can cause the value of a house to go either up or down, with up to £70,000 being added if you have the right prefix attached.

Among the priciest first letters are the likes of O, P and T, where the average price comes in considerably higher than the mean value for the country as a whole.

All fall short of the letter U, though, which comes into top place with final sale values in these streets exceeding £250,000, according to Zoopla.

Houses placed in roads and avenues starting with Z are at the other end of the spectrum, with prices sitting at around £180,000 on average.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801567441-ADNFCR
