St Austell celebrates Cornish living

The town of St Austell could be perfect for anyone planning to relocate to the sunny county of Cornwall.

Located close to the southern coast of Cornwall, the town has plenty to offer both residents and visitors. It has undergone major regeneration in recent years and is quickly developing into an ideal location to bring up children.

It hosts a weekly produce market, where you can stock up on lots of local goods, including the famous Cornish pasty and some St Austell beer - which is still brewed in the town despite its global success.

There are plenty of fun days out - ideal during the long summer school holidays. The nearby Eden Project remains one of the most popular tourist attractions in the region and it offers special reduced passes for those who are lucky enough to live in the area.

Opened in 2001, Eden is home to a number of special giant greenhouses that provide a great chance to discover plants from around the world, as well as learning more about nature and animals. More adventurous visitors can also take a trip on the special zip wire that travels the whole length of the site.

Other potential day trip destinations include the nearby clay mines, as well as the Lost Gardens of Heligan. There are also the numerous beaches in the region to explore and relax on.

The nearby area has a number of golf courses and sporting facilities including water sports, while the less active may want to spend some time exploring the local churches and historic buildings.

In terms of education, parents looking for property for sale in St Austell will want to discover more about the local schooling. There are two comprehensive schools serving the local community, as well as one further afield plus a number of primary and pre-schools.

St Austell is also a relatively short drive to Cornwall's 'capital' city Truro, which is home to a number of national retail brands.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801731254-ADNFCR
