Somerset’s Winscombe offers quiet lifestyle

The town of Winscombe in Somerset could offer a great option for
people wanting to make a break from the hustle and bustle of city
life.
With a wide mix of
property for sale in Winscombe, people searching for relaxed
rural living could be pleasantly surprised what the small village
has on offer.
It is currently home to around 4,500 people but has a number of
much-needed facilities such as a GP surgery, dentist and a
selection of shops.
One of the most popular retailers in the village is the Wine Shop
of Winscombe, which can be found close to Winscombe's library. It
runs regular monthly wine tasting events and plays a central role
in the annual Somerset Wine Fair.
Winscombe also has the advantage of being just 14 miles from
Bristol so ideal for those who working in the south west city or
people wanting to enjoy the wide range of shops and other
attractions a larger city can offer.
There is also a popular sports club in the village which gives
locals the chance to partake in some bowls, cricket and rugby
amongst other activities.
Parents looking to educate their children in the region will be
interested to discover there are two schools in the village - the
Churchill Community School and Sidcot, which is an independent
fee-paying school.
There is little doubt that rural properties are amongst the most
popular homes in the UK and a report by Halifax discovered that the
average rural-based property in England is worth around
£27,000 more than its urban counterpart as people are willing
to pay extra to ensure they can enjoy a quieter place to
live.
