Settle in south Wales and enjoy all the benefits that the Welsh lifestyle offers

The south of Wales is a lively, vibrant area of the country which is home to the capital as well as two smaller upbeat cities and also includes a smattering of beauty spots along its coast.

Cardiff, Newport and Swansea all offer great nightlife, cuisine and hoards of modern amenities for city dwellers. Cardiff, in particular is a lively night spot while also hosting fantastic museums and art galleries as well as top sporting events at the impressive Millennium Stadium.

The capital city is home to 319,700 people which is why it hosts 149 pubs, bars and nightclubs, 73 restaurants and 125 hotels. It's also why it is undeniably one of the liveliest and friendliest cities in the UK.

Bang in the heart of the area lies the magnificent Brecon Beacons natural park. The park is made up of a number of mountains and covers 519 square miles and takes in a number of different Welsh council areas. The Beacons are originally named after a process in which the Welsh used to burn beacons in order to ward off the English, nowadays the locals are much friendlier and welcome potential new South Wales residents.

So much so, that those looking for property for sale in south Wales will also be pleased to know that Barratt Homes recently planned a brand-new development for homes in Cardiff, potentially indicating a sign for the future of the region.

In terms of nature, besides the Beacons, the region also offers a number of traditional seaside spots popular with residents and tourists alike. Barry, Ogmore-by-sea and Llanelli are all perched along various parts of the southern welsh-coastline.

The region, like the rest of Wales, has strong rail links as well as offering ferries from Swansea and Pembrokeshire. Wales is linked by a series of A-roads while the M4 will lead you over into England, should you want to cross back over the Severn Bridge.
