Rise in new build houses 'to increase modern properties for sale'

More people are likely to be purchasing modern properties for sale after a report revealed that the number of new builds has increased.

According to figures from Communities and Local Government and the Office for National Statistics released today (November 18th 2010), there has been a rise in house building starts in England.

Findings showed that there were 25,870 seasonally adjusted house building starts in the country during the September quarter of 2010.

This represents a 67 per cent growth in the number of developments initiated in the March quarter of 2009.

Annual housing starts totalled 102,560 by the end of September 2010 - an increase of 40 per cent compared with the year before.

This rise in the number of new properties being constructed could encourage more people to look at modern houses for sale.

There could be more potential homeowners entering the housing market soon after a survey conducted by Zoopla revealed that the cost of owning a property is cheaper than renting in 80 per cent of the UK.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800244339-ADNFCR
