Rics: More people made property transactions in September

More homebuyers purchased houses for sale in the UK in September 2010, a recent report has revealed.

The latest Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) UK Housing Market Survey published today (October 12th 2010) showed that 22 per cent of its surveyors reported a rise in transactions in September.

This is an increase of 12 per cent from the previous month, with houses for sale in the north of England seeing the biggest jump in the number of surveyors stating properties had been purchased.

Ian Perry, a spokesman for Rics, said: "Many areas are reporting a correction rather than dramatic falls in prices and vendors who are prepared to be realistic with pricing are still able to achieve a sale."

Its last Housing Market Survey released in September showed that there were 32 per cent more chartered surveyors who reported values of properties to have fallen in August, compared with the previous month.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800111958-ADNFCR
