Rental prices will rise again within the next few years

The price of renting a property in the UK housing market will increase once again in the years to come, after they recently hit record highs once more, according to reports from LSL Property Services.

A new study from the National Housing Federation said that rental costs will be flat for the next three years, before there is a six per cent per year rise up until 2018, giving a 35 per cent jump overall in the next six years.

On top of the 37 per cent that these monthly costs have grown by over the past five years, the National Housing Federation has said that this could mean that there are many people priced out of the private rental sector.

David Orr of the organisation, said: "Successive governments have failed to tackle the under-supply of housing and time is now running out. If we don’t urgently fix the housing market we will have a generation who are priced out of renting a home, let alone buying one."ADNFCR-1222-ID-801473885-ADNFCR
