Property to rent in Cornwall and Devon still popular

Buy-to-let investors looking to buy property for sale in Cornwall and Devon could soon see increased demand for rental properties on the coast.

Bookings for self-catering property to rent in Cornwall, Devon and other south-west coastal towns are up by almost 70 per cent compared to 2010, according to new research from Knight Frank.

This increased demand could prompt buy-to-let investors to buy houses for sale in Devon or Cornwall ahead of peak summer months.

Miles Kevin, head of Knight Frank's residential development team in the south-west, said: "Current yields for new-build properties in prime (coastal, or historic town) pockets of the south-west are healthier than ever."

Flats to rent in Newquay, Cornwall with two bedrooms and a modern interior could command £1,000 or more per week in July and August, he added.

Cornwall recently won seven prizes at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2010/2011, including the Winner of Winners award.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800463074-ADNFCR
