Property market is 'turning Brits into committed buyers'

Over the last three months many Brits have turned from "window shoppers" into "committed buyers" on the property market.

This is the opinion of Naomi Heaton, chief executive of London Central Portfolio, who claims that many people are now realising that the industry has bottomed out in the UK.

As a result, they are making a move because they are concerned that they will miss out on opportunities if they wait too long.

This is because they may be unable to negotiate asking prices due to the increased activity and competition within the market as it can put pressure on figures.

Ms Heaton said: "Those entering the market in recent months have been ahead of trend and it often transpires that the early bird gets the worm."

In related news, Savills has revealed that property prices in prime central London locations increased by 4.3 per cent in the second quarter of 2009.
