Property hotspots revealed

The top property locations across the UK have been revealed as buyers try to find the perfect new home.

Teh Daily Telegraph reports many house hunters are looking at moving away from the London and South East as prices continue to outpace affordability for many.

Recent research from Savills shows the "outer commuter belt" is getting wider as property values in the capital have increased by 45.1 per cent since the recession. This means many are looking at new towns and villages that have not traditionally been seen as commuter hotspots.

"London has so substantially overperformed since the recession that the price gaps between the capital and the South East are bigger than ever. People who are looking for more space without unduly stretching themselves on their mortgage are searching further afield," explained Lucian Cook, head of residential research for Savills.

For many employees the development of high-speed broadband and flexible working options has meant it is now easier to work further away from the office.

So what are the possible new property up-and-coming areas over the next five years?

According to the research, prices are expected to rise by over 20 per cent in areas surrounding the capital - this include Hart in Hampshire, Tunbridge Wells in Kent, Horsham in Sussex and Spelthorne in Surrey.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801818871-ADNFCR
