Prize may help houses for sale in Somerset shine

Property for sale in Somerset could be set for a popularity boost after Country Life magazine named a West Cranmore home England's Favourite House for the south west region.

The accolade, awarded to Southill House, could see homebuyers flocking to the country to view houses for sale in Somerset.

Judging panel member Julian Fellowes said the Grade-I listed house is a " remarkable achievement".

"Southill is astonishingly successful as a traditional country house that has been perfectly equipped for modern living.

"It is beautiful and comfortable; its setting is superb and convenient."

Featuring a long, sweeping drive based in its own parkland, the 18th century house has been recently renovated to make it more family-friendly.

Somerset is currently benefiting from redevelopment as part of Project Taunton, a multi-million pound programme to regenerate its town centre.

The town could see more homebuyers looking for property for sale in Taunton as a result of the scheme.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800491912-ADNFCR
