Private rental sector improving again

Confidence among landlords is growing once more thanks to the fact that there has been a growth in demand, taking demand in excess of supply once again at the start of 2012.

The Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) has reported that 55 per cent of letting agents in the UK now believe that private rental sector demand is greater than the number of houses available.

This is continued good news for landlords, after nine consecutive months of increasing rent prices last year, with demand likely to drive prices higher again.

Ian Potter, operations manager at ARLA, said: "Investing in a buy-to-let property has always been an attractive opportunity, and the high demand for rented property means there are a growing number of first time landlords in the market."

Mr Potter went on to say that hard work and commitment are the best way to make sure that a property's potential to earn is realised.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801307664-ADNFCR
