Price of UK rents drop in February

The rental market is swinging back towards tenants in terms of price, as the buy-to-let market has seen a fall in demand that affects monthly charges.

In the UK throughout February, it was reported by LSL Property Services that the price of rent landlords are able to gain had dropped by 0.1 per cent, with some areas faring worse than others.

The company said that levels in the north-west and south-west saw the biggest falls, while Wales was the best performer, with London unsurprisingly not too far behind the nation.

The amount of money that landlords are able to bring in has been affected in the early part of the year, largely because of the fact the demand has dropped as more people look towards buying properties.

New purchasers have been helped by the government's Funding For Lending Scheme (FLS), which has made mortgages more readily available across the country.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801557871-ADNFCR
