Oxford residents association set up to tackle local issues

House hunters keen on property for sale in Oxfordshire will be buoyed by the creation of a new resident's association in the Lye Valley area of the region.

Parking and student housing will be two of the first issues tackled, following the inaugural meeting which drew around 40 people.

It is not the first time the community has aimed at sorting out a group to try and tackle local issues, although this is the first time an adequate number of people turned up to a meeting.

Local pub landlord Glynn Millard hosted the meeting at his establishment and has also offered to form a committee for the group.

Mr Millard told the Oxford Mail: "We had more than 40 people from the estate for the first meeting that was publicised.

"Now hopefully the information will get around a bit more and in future meetings there will be even more people and it will be of benefit to the community."

The next full meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 7th.
