New fixed-rate mortgage from Yorkshire Building Society

Yorkshire Building Society has launched a new two-year fixed-rate mortgage at a rate of 3.29 per cent up to a loan-to-value (LTV) of 60 per cent, with a fee of £1,195.

The company revealed that this is currently the lowest fixed rate deal available directly to customers.

Borrowers who want to pay a lower fee can opt for a similar product from the building society, which offers rates of 3.59 per cent with an arrangement fee of £495.

A new tracker product with a rate of 2.49 per cent up to an LTV of 60 per cent was also announced.

Tom Girling, product manager for mortgages at the organisation, commented: "We have been cutting rates across our whole range over the past month, making mortgages even more affordable for those looking to get onto the property ladder or who are ready to remortgage."

On January 26th, Yorkshire Building Society members voted in favour of a merger with Chelsea Building Society, which will create a financial services firm with assets of £35 billion and 178 branches nationwide.ADNFCR-1222-ID-19581743-ADNFCR
