New deal helps first-time buyers secure houses for sale in Staffordshire

First-time buyers looking to buy property for sale in Staffordshire will benefit from a new mortgage deal from a local lender.

Leek United Building Society, based in the county, has announced a new deal aimed at people trying to get onto the property ladder with houses for sale in Staffordshire, Chesire, Shropshire and Derbyshire.

The society's new five-year fixed rate mortgage featured a loan-to-value (LTV) rate of 90 per cent, beneficial to buyers with low deposits.

Head of lending, Mike Williams, says the new home loan is part of continued efforts to help local communities buy houses for sale in Staffordshire and other counties.

He said: "In the current economic climate, we want to do all we can to help the communities in our local areas and, in particular, first-time buyers."

First-time buyers need to stabilise their payments and plan ahead, he added.

Leek United increased its lending by 40 per cent in 2010, according to the company's recent financial results.

Mortgage lending worth £84 million was approved by the society last year, compared to £60 million in 2009.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800481347-ADNFCR
