NLA launches new fire safety tool

The National Landlords Association (NLA) has launched a new free Fire Safety Logbook.

Approved by the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA), the logbook aims to ensure landlords keep an accurate record of fire safety precautions.

The updated tool includes new regulations for carbon monoxide and smoke alarms, as well as templates to ensure landlords carry out safety risk assessments and conduct fire safety equipment checks.

Richard Price, director of operations at the NLA, said: "We have developed this logbook to help landlords identify, reduce and control any potential fire risks in their rental properties."

He added: "We are delighted that the Chief Fire Officers Association, which brings together all fire and rescue services across the country, has endorsed the Logbook, and we urge all landlords to use it to help them keep their properties and their tenants safe."

Jonathan Herrick, chair of the CFOA business safety group, added that all landlords have a duty to keep tenants safe and reduce the potential risk of fire.

The updated Fire Safety Logbook is available free from the NLA’s website.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801820212-ADNFCR
