NBHC figures reveal new home building increase in UK

The amount of homes being registered in the UK showed positive improvement on 2012 figures, according to the latest figures released by the National House Building Council (NHBC).

In total 34,356 new homes were registered between September and November this year, which is a marked increase from the 26,420 properties recorded in the same period in 2012.

This could be considered as good news for estate agents in the UK as a lack of viable supply was one feature that continued to present itself throughout the end of 2013.

NHBC commercial director Richard Tamayo, said that the November figures continued the consistent volume growth that was seen throughout 2013.

“As the year draws to a close the industry can look back on what has been an overall upbeat year for the sector where we have seen a return of genuine confidence and a welcome contribution from various government schemes such as Help to Buy to the UK's housing volume growth,” he added.

Due to the NBHC’s status as a leading warranty and insurance provider for UK homes, its monthly statistics provide valuable insight into the amount of new homes being produced in Britain.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801678726-ADNFCR
