More mortgage deals for houses for sale in Yorkshire

First-time buyers hoping to invest in property for sale in Yorkshire may benefit from more low-deposit deals on the market.

Houses for sale in Yorkshire may be an ideal choice for those trying to get on the ladder, as the region is one of the cheapest for first-time buyer properties, according to Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks.

Research by the lenders revealed that the average first home costs £112,396, far lower than the cost of equivalent property for sale in London, which averages at £260,261.

Now Moneyfacts.co.uk reports that there are 41 per cent more mortgage deals requiring only a ten per cent deposit available compared to a year ago.

In addition, home loans requesting ten per cent have seen their rates fall to less than six per cent for the first time since March 2008.

Michelle Slade, spokeswoman for the financial information site, said the figures would "boost" first-time buyers.

However, for those hoping to buy houses for sale in Yorkshire, there may be further obstacles.

"Mortgage availability may be improving, but mortgage approval figures remain subdued. The mortgage market still has a way to go before it returns to any sort of normality,” Ms Slade explained.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800533460-ADNFCR
