More houses to rent in Bath due on the market?

Increased demand from tenants could see landlords buying houses for sale in Bath.

According to Paragon Mortgages, almost half of UK landlords saw demand for rental property increase during the first quarter of 2011.

Property to rent in Bath, Somerset, may experience some of this increased demand due to its high student population.

The University of Bath welcomes almost 15,000 students annually, who may be using the Easter break to find their ideal accommodation for the next year of their studies.

Compared to the final quarter of 2010, Paragon's data shows that tenant demand has risen by 40 per cent in the first three months of the year.

In addition, more than half of buy-to-let investors polled say demand will continue to grow stronger.

Nigel Terrington, Paragon Group chief executive, explained: "[Demand] is expected to rise due to a number of factors, including social housing reforms, lifestyle choices, low numbers of first-time buyers and wider demographic changes."

The Association of Residential Letting Agents (Arla) recommends compiling a detailed inventory before allowing tenants to move into houses to rent in Bath, to avoid deposit disputes.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800513692-ADNFCR
