Manchester housing scheme announced

Manchester housing scheme announced

House hunters looking for property for sale in Manchester will be buoyed by the news that 110 new homes are to be built across the region.

The homes will be built over the next four years across large swathes of the region including Trafford and Wigan. The properties will all include affordable rents and are part of a £30 million investment across the North West by Adactus Housing Group.

Such plans could only go ahead with the backing of a £2.3 million grant from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Deborah McLaughlin, executive director North West at the HCA, said: "This announcement is great news as it will see much needed affordable homes delivered in Greater Manchester and will make a significant difference to the local communities in which we work."

Housing minister Grant Shapps recently called for long-term mortgages to be lent by banks in order to help aid the self-build trend and encourage recovery.
