Ludlow offers vibrant lifestyle

The market town of Ludlow is regarded by many as one of the country's top locations.

Poet John Betjeman once described Ludlow as "the loveliest town in England" and Country Life named it as "the most vibrant small town in the country".

Therefore, there are lots of people looking for property for sale in Ludlow so they too can discover what is so great about this Shropshire town.

Historic buildings can be found across the region, with the town boasting more than 500 listed buildings, largely dating back to Georgian times.  Many of the local retailers and restaurants are based in timber frame properties.

One of the main attractions for locals and tourists is the famous Ludlow Castle. It has played a key role in the history of the town and remains the focus of a number of events, including regular open air theatre productions.

For those who want to find out more about the rich culture, then a visit to Ludlow Museum is a must. Visitors can discover about past residents of the region, including the poet and author A E Housman.

Ludlow also hosts a number of festivals and fairs each year that are a great way to get more involved with the local community and make friends.

In September, Ludlow Marches Food & Drink Festival takes place, while the Ludlow Festival is held at the start of summer and attracts performers from all over the world.

Another popular event is the Medieval Christmas Fair. This is held in November and is a great chance to get in to the festive spirit and do some Christmas gift shopping.

People looking for a good day out should also consider visiting the Severn Valley Railway. This is a full-sized steam passenger service that runs the 16 miles between Kidderminster in Worcestershire and Bridgnorth in Shropshire. The route is very scenic and ideal for train-obsessed children and adults.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801751243-ADNFCR
