Live the country life in Yorkshire

As the UK's biggest county, there are a wide variety of communities to choose from when it comes to looking at property for sale in Yorkshire.

On one hand you have quaint villages in the peace and quiet of the countryside which are surrounded by rolling hills, allowing you to form a close bond with those who turn up to enjoy a quiet pint in the local pub every weekend.

Then there are bigger towns such as Harrogate which provide an excellent standard of living. Commuter links to bigger cities are on hand to provide excellent access to jobs and entertainment.

Yorkshire is also home to the likes of York, Leeds and Sheffield, with these large cities each having their own unique characteristics and history shaped by their founding fathers and early trade links.

These differences can be easily seen when splitting the county into North, South, East and West Yorkshire, and your choice of destination for your new home will often be determined by your employment.

Leeds, for instance, is home to many positions in retail, marketing and finance, while you will find industrial and manufacturing jobs in South Yorkshire.

As one of the UK's fastest growing cities, Leeds is a hub of activity. It's new arena in the heart of the city will bring world-class entertainment to the region, while it is also famed for Leeds United, Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire County Cricket Club for sports fans.

From an education point of view there are a large number of schools, with independent offerings such as St Peters in York and Giggleswick in North Yorkshire, while further studies can be carried out at universities in Sheffield, York, Leeds, Huddersfield and Bradford.

Although high streets around the country continue to struggle, shopping malls in Sheffield and Leeds provide the big brands that you would expect of a large urban metropolis.

Yorkshire in general also benefits from excellent tourism figures, thanks to visitors wishing to spend time in the North Yorkshire Moors and Dales, while the county has even secured the hosting of the start of the Tour de France in 2014.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801601232-ADNFCR
