Live in the home of the music festival

Glastonbury is undoubtedly best known throughout the UK for the home of the eponymous festival which is held by Michael Eavis on his estate at Worthy Farm, where it has been held every year since 1970. However, as well as being a site synonymous with yearly visitors basking in the mud, Glastonbury has much to offer homebuyers looking for property for sale in Glastonbury.

The town itself is situated in Somerset, and is a small settling which is located to the south of Bristol, with only around 9,000 or so people residing there. Its location to the nearby city makes it an ideal destination for commuters who want to take time away from the city when they finish work each night.

As well as being the site where Glastonbury festival attracts thousands of revellers each year, though, the small town also plays host to a number of cultural, historical and other interesting landmarks and activities which can make living there perfect for those who choose it.

For people who love to walk, Glastonbury offers much. History buffs can take a walk up the hill Tor, where they will be rewarded with fine views of parts of Somerset. From there, it is said, you can see how Glastonbury was once an island, separated from the rest of the county by water which has long since dried up.

At the foot of the hill sits the Chalice Well, which, even in the times of drought is a strong provider of water. People coming to the town may be interested in seeing the unique reddish tint the water displays because of the oxidisation in it as well.

And for history fans, they can also see the historic 15th century George Hotel and Pilgrims' Inn building in its original state. All of these potential activities make for a fine destination for anyone who considers themselves a traditionalist and an enthusiast for history and culture.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801306385-ADNFCR
