Life in the community spirit

Life in the community spirit

There are a lot of people across the UK who will see moving to a more rural environment as beneficial, especially as they start to get older, because it offers them the chance to feel like more of a community-orientated person, and part of a tighter-knit group.

This is normally true of villages, as well as market towns, and such places can be found when people are out and looking for property for sale in Bridgwater.

It is a market town of medium size, in that the Somerset settlement has some 33,000 residents, making it a smaller environment than a city or even most large towns, but still allowing it to have some life and sense of business around.

Oftenplaces like market towns are characterised by the fact that they have yearly events for the locals to take part in which makes them fun and quirky places to live, which often give the chance to see traditional ways of life or customs of the town.

Bridgwater is no different, as it offers a range of different annual occurrences.  Its biggest event by far is the Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Illumination, which brings in over 150,000 people every year, with some people even coming from overseas just to take part in it.

Other events in the town include Bridgwater Fair in September, known as the second largest funfair in the whole of England, and the summer time Somerfest, which sees many rock and jazz acts playing their music to attendees.

As well as recreation and events though, the town also has far more to offer people who want to live there. A strong educational base, with a wide number of schools, means that parents will have a great chance of giving their kids a good start in life.

The Engine Room, owned by Somerset Film, is also a good attraction because it allows people to drop in and use facilities such as computers for free during opening hours.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801395171-ADNFCR
