Landlords can have confidence over rents

Landlords in the UK who have property to rent to tenants can afford to feel quite confident over the level of yield that they are receiving for their investment for the foreseeable future, an expert has claimed.

According to Lee Grandin, director at Landlord Mortgages, landlords are in the driving seat at the moment because of the fact that high demand for rented properties has led to a shortage.

Many more movers are now looking for these kinds of houses because they offer a chance to find a place to live without the prohibitive costs that surround the homeowner financing market.

Mr Grandin said that more landlords are likely to try to increase their portfolios.

"It is definitely a positive environment for those that do have the cash to purchase property. You have to be cash-rich at the moment to make buy-to-let work because you do need a significant deposit," he added.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801441425-ADNFCR
