Is now a good time to remortgage?
Now may be a good time to remortgage, consumers have been
advised.
According to Stuart Law, chief executive of Assetz, if homeowners
can get a favourable deal, they should take it.
He remarked: "It is a good time if you need the money or if you see
an opportunity to reduce your monthly costs because there are
plenty of people who can save money per month."
Mr Law went on to predict that there will be an increase in
remortgaging among Britons going forward.
His comments came after the release of analysis by HSBC, which
revealed that in the current environment, the amount of equity
people hold in their homes is more important than ever, especially
for those wishing to remortgage.
Meanwhile, figures published by the Council of Mortgage Lenders
recently showed that house purchase lending increased by 45 per
cent year-on-year in March, making it the ninth consecutive month
of such growth.
