Houses for sale in the south-east now more affordable?

First-time buyers viewing property for sale in Oxfordshire may find their first home in the region more affordable than in previous years.

According to research by Santander, houses for sale in the south-east of England suitable for people getting onto the property ladder are now £16,500 cheaper compared to 2007 prices.

The region's first-home type properties have reduced in price significantly compared to other areas.

For example, houses for sale in London have only seen a £5,403 reduction for this property type.

Houses for sale in Oxfordshire may also offer additional benefits associated with its rural setting.

According to the Campaign to Protect Rural England, the countryside offers a higher quality of life due to its cleaner air and breathtaking scenery.

Jack Neill-Hall, a spokesman for the campaign, believes rural locations also offer a greater sense of community.

He said: "Throughout our history a house in the country has been the dream of many an urbanite."ADNFCR-1222-ID-800519419-ADNFCR
