Houses for sale in Southampton maintain value

The average price of property for sale in Southampton remained steady in the three months to January, with minor fluctuation over the period.

Houses for sale in Southampton are valued at around £145,000 on average, according to the Land Registry.

Since November 2010 prices have fallen by less than £200, which could mean demand for houses, apartments and flats for sale in the area are still experiencing healthy demand.

People hoping to secure houses for sale in Southampton this year could find a strong sense of local community in the city.

Southampton City Council is hosting a street party for local residents in Guildhall Square to celebrate the Royal wedding, as well as encouraging people to apply for permission to host their own.

The ceremony will be broadcasted on a giant screen, with chairs, tables and bunting provided to help Southampton locals to celebrate the historic event together.

Councillor John Hannides said: "The royal wedding is a very important event.

"We expect thousands of people will want to come together in Southampton and ... follow the great British tradition of holding a street party."ADNFCR-1222-ID-800465546-ADNFCR
