Houses for sale in Oxfordshire to see demand boost?

Buyers may take advantage of the forthcoming four-day weekend to look for houses for sale in Oxfordshire and other rural locations.

According to the Countryside Alliance, more and more city-dwellers are looking to move to the countryside.

The boost in demand is pushing up the cost of property for sale in Oxfordshire and other rural areas, according to the charity.

Alice Barnard, chief executive of the Countryside Alliance, explained: "The higher quality of life and associated benefits rural living brings has led to a greater demand for housing, particularly in hot spot areas."

Rural areas are "great places to live", she added.

Halifax's Rural Areas Quality of Life Survey recently found that high earners have snapped up houses for sale in Oxfordshire, with the county's average wage totalling £822 per week.

In addition, South Oxfordshire has reported a good standard of health, with 95 per cent of households rating themselves in good or fairly good health.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800515483-ADNFCR
