Houses for sale in Oxfordshire see price rise

The price of prime country properties including houses for sale in Oxfordshire has risen by 0.5 per cent, Knight Frank has revealed.

According to its Prime Country House Index, houses for sale in counties in the south east of England received a price boost in the first quarter of 2011.

Further growth is predicted in the counties surrounding London and property for sale in Oxfordshire will benefit from demand outstripping supply.

Rupert Sweeting, head of the country department at Knight Frank, said: "With ... the shortage of supply becoming quite acute in some areas such as the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire, we are confident that prime houses ... will attract considerable interest."

Londoners looking for houses for sale in the south east and south west of England could find property prices more agreeable compared to the capital.

The Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) recently urged residents to back homebuilders to support new property for sale in Sussex, which could address housing shortages.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800479760-ADNFCR
