Houses for sale in Manchester: New biomedical centre announced

Property for sale in Manchester could experience increased demand as a result of a government investment project.

The Regional Growth Fund has awarded finance to develop the site of the Former Royal Eye Hospital into a centre of excellence in the city's biomedical cluster.

A new research laboratory and education centre has been announced, one of several projects to successfully win funding from the government.

Increased investment will help the region's life science sector to develop further, which could see medical professionals investing in houses for sale in Manchester.

Chief secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander believes the new centre will create hundreds of new jobs in construction and science.

He said: "By supporting developments such as Manchester's Former Royal Eye Hospital, which I visited today, the government is helping the private sector lead the economic recovery."

Houses to rent in Manchester could also be set to improve as a result of a government scheme to empower tenants to maintain their properties.
