Houses for sale in Malvern to gain superfast broadband

Property for sale in Malvern may experience a boost after BT announced plans to install next generation broadband in the area.

The Worcestershire town will receive super-fast broadband by the end of 2012 as part of the telecommunications firm's roll-out of the services across the UK.

Homebuyers who consider high-speed internet access important when choosing a new home may flock to view houses for sale in Malvern as a result.

Businesses and 14,800 homes will have access to the next-generation services.

Malvern District Council's Economic Development Manager, Simon Smith, told the BBC that the services would help attract businesses to Malvern.

A survey by ISPreview.co.uk has found that access to a fast broadband connection could add value to houses up for sale.

The site found that 69 per cent of UK internet users would be deterred from buying a new home if it did not have a fast broadband connection.

In addition, half of users questioned said they would pay more for a property with faster connection speeds than their current home.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800500601-ADNFCR
