Houses for sale in Essex see April boost

Property for sale in Essex experienced healthy demand in April, it has been revealed.

The National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) reports that last month was "quite good", with sales level with March's figures.

Houses to let in Essex also prove popular, with available rental properties being snapped up "very quickly", the NAEA Essex branch reports.

Estate agents in the area are in need of more two and three bedroom houses to meet demand.

Des Rowson, representative for the branch, says the numerous bank holiday weekends did not have too negative an effect on demand.

He commented: "The bank holidays were not too bad as agents seem to be dealing with better quality clients which has resulted in success."

Overall, estate agents across the UK reported stable sales levels, with the agent average remaining at eight properties for the month.

The average number of properties available for sale per branch increased from 68 in March to 69 in April, which may be good news for house hunters.
