House prices showing growth across UK

UK house prices have shown an average growth of 5.4 per cent in the 12 months to November 2013, according to recent figures.

The new data, released by the Office for National Statistics, is likely to be welcomed by estate agents across the UK, as the property market shows continued signs of improvement.

House prices in London are increasing at double the rate of the national average, but this rise is helping to drive growth in the rest of Britain.

Excluding the capital and the south-east, an average house price rise of 3.1 per cent was seen across the UK in the 12 months to November 2013.

According to the figures, first-time buyers paid 6.4 per cent more in November 2013 than they did in the previous year. However, this has not dissuaded such buyers from entering the market, as record numbers of new homeowners managed to step onto the property ladder in the last year.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801682541-ADNFCR
