House prices 'high on Brighton's streets'

House prices 'high on Brighton's streets'

Five Brighton streets have seen property prices jump over the £1 million level, according to new figures released by Mouseprice.

The findings were revealed on the Most Affordable Street Rankings study from the firm, with Brighton's Montpelier Villas top with an average price of £1,071,900, reports the Argus.

In second place was Tongdean Road in Hove, which has a typical price of £1,143,700, while Brighton's Roedean Way posted an average of £1,071,900.

But the average price of a home at Oxford Street in South Elmsall, Yorkshire is £25,600, it said, while Middlesbrough's Tower Green is also cheap.

"While an average property is currently worth around £200,000, it is interesting to note that over ten per cent of transactions are for properties costing less than £100,000," commented director of Mouseprice Selwyn Lim.

Halifax recently stated that house prices per square metre in Merthyr Tydfil have jumped in the last six years.ADNFCR-1222-ID-18514517-ADNFCR
