House price boost on property for sale in London

Houses for sale in London and the south east could see their prices rise, a survey has revealed.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) reports positive house price expectations in London and the south east in its February surveys, ahead of other regions in the UK.

In addition, property to rent in London and the south east could see monthly rents increase throughout 2011.

According to the Rics' Lettings Survey for the first quarter of 2011, rental expectations for houses and flats to let in London and the south east are the highest in the country.

This could see increased demand for houses to rent in Kent, Essex and other south-east counties.

Rics economist Himanshu Wani says demand for property for sale in London is largely because of the appeal of the capital to overseas investors.

Knight Frank has revealed that property for sale in London has seen price growth of eight per cent in the last year.

Prices in the capital have risen by 24 per cent since the post-credit crunch dip in March 2009.ADNFCR-1222-ID-800473910-ADNFCR
