Homeowners warned over the end of fixed-price energy

Most people across the UK have felt the effect of high bills and the ever-increasing cost of gas and electricity in the last few years.

However, while most will have taken steps to make sure they are lowering what they pay and keep the home safe from the elements, some may not realise that they could be set to be hit hard in the pocket when their current fixed-price deals end.

According to the latest report from MoneySupermarket.com, there are a number of these offers set to come to an end in May, such as npower's Go Fix 11, and it said that those unaware of the effects of a tariff ending could end up £319 per year worse off.

Clare Francis, editor-in-chief at MoneySupermarket.com, said: "There are a large number of fixed rate energy deals coming to an end over the next month and now is the time to take action before you see your bills rocket. Most people will be moved onto their provider's standard price plan unless they take action so in order to avoid a bill shock it's well worth taking ten minutes to find a new deal to move onto."ADNFCR-1222-ID-801580604-ADNFCR
