Homeowners 'happy with building work'

A high percentage of those who have had homes built think the constructors did a good job, a survey by the Home Builder's Federation (HBF) has said.

Many of the people polled (75 per cent) claimed that they would tell their friends about the builders involved, while 76 per cent suggested that they were "satisfied".

And 73 per cent of the homeowners believed the workers were "fairly good" or "very good" for completing the property on schedule.

Executive chairman at the HBF Stewart Baseley noted that it is "crucial" to buyers that good standards are met in this field.

"Whilst being ever conscious that more needs to be done, we are pleased that our survey results show consistently high levels of achievement across all areas," Mr Baseley remarked.

Questions were handed out to the homebuyers between October 2006 and September 2007.

Some self-built homes may help the environment more than other properties, according to recent comments by Julian Brooks, managing director at Green Moves.ADNFCR-1222-ID-18566384-ADNFCR
