The south-east of England is at the forefront of an influx of high-value property available to rent in the UK, it has been revealed.

According to research by the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA), data for the first quarter of 2011 shows an 11.6 per cent rise in the average capital value of rental houses.

The south-east has driven capital growth, with the region showing a 16.2 per cent increase across the region.

More high-value property to rent in Kent has entered the private rental market this year, according to Savills.

Theresa Wallace, director of the firm's Kent branch, says demand for houses to rent in Kent is rising, with families and professional couples waiting for the ideal homes.

Tenants living in property to rent in Kent will soon be able to take control of the maintenance of their homes.
