Hedon: Small town delights aplenty

Hedon: Small town delights aplenty

The North of England is home to many fantastic rural areas that one could choose to settle down in. Yorkshire in particular contains a vast array of small towns that have plenty of charm and character.

With rolling green hills and humble drystone walls, it is easy to see why Yorkshire is a popular place for relocators. Those looking for the peace and quiet offered by country life may be able to find it by looking at property for sale in Hedon.

A civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, Hedon has a population of just over 7,000 residents, making it a perfect choice for someone seeking a more relaxed way of life.

Originally a Norman town, a diverse contrast between old and new buildings can be seen throughout the area. Painter's Cottages in Souttergate is believed to date back as far as 1562, which helps give property in the area a unique sense of heritage.

Hedon is also in very close proximity to the newly crowned 2017 UK City of Culture, Hull. With a wide range of historical, sporting and artistic entertainment, the city could provide a nice weekend trip for those looking to soak up some culture.

As well as being just a five mile journey away from Hull, Hedon is also close to the sea. Resorts Bridlington and Scarborough are not too far  away, meaning a summer outing to the beach is never out of the question.

Whether you are looking to get in your weekly shop or to indulge in some retail therapy, Hedon has plenty to offer in both aspects.

Hedon has a great community of local pubs, which is typical of Yorkshire's smaller towns. The Station and The Haven Arms are two examples of traditional English pubs.

For those who love the outdoors The North Yorkshire Moors national park is not but an hour away. Offering some of the best countryside in Britain, the moors are yet another reason why Yorkshire is such a popular place to live.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801665290-ADNFCR
