Gosport promotes work-life balance

Gosport promotes work-life balance

The beautiful coastal town of Gosport is the ideal location for people looking to downsize and find somewhere away from the rat race for their retirement, but also offers plenty for those looking to strike a better work-life balance.

Situated on the south coast, it benefits from slightly warmer temperatures than the rest of the UK, ensuring that local residents and people looking for property for sale in Gosport can make the most of their free evenings and weekends.

Its stunning setting sees Gosport become a tourist hotspot during the summer months, with people from the cities coming for a taste of paradise. However, the Hampshire town has more than just an attractive coastline, with the area being most famous for its role in the D-day landings.

During June 1944, tanks, scout cars and wheeled vehicles of the Sherbrooke Fusiliers Regiment, Canadian Army loaded landing craft tanks in Gosport. Vehicles had been hidden from the Germans, taking advantage of the seclusion of its location slightly further inland. They then moved through Titchford and Stubbington to Gosport's waterfront, where tanks were carefully backed into position to prepare for their journey across the Channel.

This makes Gosport an exciting location for any history enthusiast, or anyone who wants to explore the area. However, the region also offers many shopping opportunities, including the town centre itself and Stoke Road area.

Gosport also boasts three modern marinas; Royal Clarence, Gosport Marina and Haslar Marina, as well as Walpole Park and Royal Clarence Yard. Haslar Creek is another popular attraction for locals, situated just south of the centre, and its scenic Haslar Lake makes for a great family day out.

This allows people working within Gosport or the surrounding areas to make the most of their free time, making for a better work-life balance for residents.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801775492-ADNFCR
