Glastonbury is more than just a festival

Every year Glastonbury hosts the most famous music festival in the world, however the town has so much more to offer for those who choose to live there.

Worthy Farm is recognised for being the meeting place for tens of thousands of fans who come from far and wide to see their favourite bands take to the stage, but aside from this there are plenty of other reasons to look for property for sale in Glastonbury.

Part of the gorgeous and spacious Somerset countryside, Glastonbury provides an excellent standard of living, particularly for those who like to be in the great outdoors. Long walks at the weekend provide an excellent escape from the daily routine of work and screaming kids, and it is this freedom that gives habitants a fine contrast from city life.

Glastonbury is also home to many myths and legends which can be explored, including those surrounding Joseph of Arimathea, the Holy Grail and King Arthur.

Families will find the area ideal for their needs as the town has a large number of schools to help give their young ones the best start in life. There are quite a few primary schools, while secondary education is provided through St Dunstan's Community School.

Nearby destinations include the likes of Weston-super-Mare, Bristol and Bridgwater, with the M5 motorway linking Exeter and Birmingham just a short distance away.

Glastonbury is known as a centre for religious tourism and pilgrimage, and its High Street is home to a number of alternative shops. The ruins of the Abbey take pride of place, and there are a few other impressive churches in the vicinity.

Sport and cultural opportunities are dotted around the town, with Glastonbury FC and Glastonbury Cricket Club providing opportunities for spectators and players alike, while the aforementioned festival continues to be a good source of income and tourism to the town.ADNFCR-1222-ID-801602884-ADNFCR
